Ari Kim – A Living Being Awakened by Breath

A Journey to Find the Direction of Life

I was born in South Korea and currently live in Seoul. In college, I majored in economics, but even then, I began deeply exploring physical and mental health. For over 20 years, I have consistently practiced healthy eating habits and regular exercise.

In this age of constant stimulation and fatigue, where balance is so easily lost, I naturally came to place the harmony of physical, mental, and spiritual health at the center of my life.

And I came to a realization:
It’s not just about my own health. Living a life that contributes to the true restoration of others—that is the path I am called to walk.

I’ve read over 2,000 books so far. Many of them were about theology and faith, health and wellness, the restoration of consciousness, and the exploration of the essence of human existence.

Who am I?
How should I live?
In what kind of relationships am I meant to live?

Carrying these questions with me, I studied across disciplines and read widely. It was never just about collecting knowledge—it became a path toward deeper understanding of life and existence, and a more honest encounter with myself.

A Fateful Encounter with the Alexander Technique

In 2022, I first encountered the Alexander Technique in a book. From that moment, I felt a profound inner calling—a deep desire to immerse myself in this work and eventually become a teacher.

It offered more than health advice; it revealed a new way of understanding how we use ourselves and awakened a longing to live with greater clarity, presence, and integrity. The Alexander Technique became a path of inner recalibration.

The 1,600-hour, three-year teacher training program was a serious commitment, but I felt certain it would lead to the full restoration of my holistic health.

In 2023, I began laying the groundwork by studying for a year with Kim Sung-eun, a student of Tommy Thompson. Then in September 2024, I moved to Boston to study directly under Tommy Thompson, one of the world’s foremost master teachers of the Alexander Technique.

A Connection with Tommy Thompson

Our first meeting was during a workshop in Korea on February 26, 2022 — a quiet yet defining moment that marked the beginning of my path with the Alexander Technique.

Our connection began in February 2022, at an Alexander Technique workshop in Korea. A conversation we shared over a meal afterward became the beginning of something deeper. From that moment, I carried a quiet conviction that I would someday become his student. That dream eventually became reality.

Meeting him felt like a quiet calling—one that began to reshape how I live, move, and see the world.

My Journey as a Teacher-in-Training

Today, I’m a teacher-in-training in the Alexander Technique and a lifelong explorer of holistic living—physically, mentally, and spiritually. I’m currently preparing to launch a wellness initiative that brings these principles together—offering others a space to reconnect with their breath, body, and inner stillness, and to restore harmony across all aspects of being.

On the Path of Presence

September 2024 — my very first day in Boston. I stood outside Tommy Thompson’s house, feeling the beginning of my journey into Alexander Technique teacher training. A new chapter.

The first semester of my training in Boston, which began in fall 2024, was one of the most profound and fulfilling times of my life. To finally study what I had longed for—directly under the world’s foremost Alexander Technique master teacher—filled me with a depth of gratitude and wonder beyond words.

Tommy Thompson doesn’t try to fix me. He is a teacher who guides the awakening of sensory and presence awareness, gently expanding my experience of body and mind in a natural, integrated way.

On this path, I’m learning to live more deeply—in connection with myself and the world around me

Resonance Flow – The Flow of Breath That Awakens Awareness

In April 2025, I began organizing and documenting Tommy Thompson’s teachings—drawn from over 50 years of deep experience—through my blog, Resonance Flow. I’m deeply grateful that this space now serves as an archive carrying his essence and legacy.

I hope the blog becomes more than a record—that it becomes a space of resonance, where his teachings echo and spread. It’s my way of giving back what I continue to receive: awareness, healing, and presence.

What I’m learning through the Alexander Technique goes far beyond posture or movement. It restores breath, self-awareness, and the posture of living in deep presence.

Who Am I?

Right now, I am walking a path of transformation—from sensation to being, from awareness of body and mind to inner clarity, from unconscious habit patterns to conscious noticing.

I’m someone who seeks to live awake—to embody presence, to move with intention, and to connect deeply with the world within and around me.

Each breath brings me back—to presence, to stillness, to who I truly am

A living being.
I am one who has been awakened by the breath of God.
And with that breath, in this very moment,
I long to be connected with you.

The Path I Want to Walk

The path to true happiness is a life of awarenessa life lived with awakened consciousness. That’s the life I long for. And I hope to quietly, yet deeply, walk alongside others on that path.

The Alexander Technique frees us from unconscious thoughts, emotions, patterns, and unnecessary tensions. It helps us rediscover our natural flow—and presence in the here and now.

This blog is a space to walk that journey of restoration together.
I’m grateful our paths have met—and deeply glad we’re walking side by side.

I still ask myself: Who am I? Where am I now? Who am I walking with?

My being lives and breathes in the presence of God. I live and move in His love. Within that sacred breath, I long to stay awake—to live truthfully, wholeheartedly, and fully—today and every day.
